Budget workaround

Client’s budget was insufficient to rent and dress a studio, so I suggested finding a stock photo we could hack into and photograph the product at the same angle. I significantly changed the background photo (including removing a nude behind the staircase, adding a hearth wall, removing furniture and adding lighting effects and a royalty-free painting by Kandinsky). Is this preferable to staging and lighting the product in a real environment and photographing it properly? Of course not. Would any potential customer seeing the image in a brochure know or care about the difference? No. This solution saved the client several thousand dollars.
