Props and fabrication: G4 desk prototype

I love the process of taking an idea from the shower, to a daydream, to a sketch, to a tangible object. For me, the creative process doesn't stop with fabrication. The G4 Desk shape, for example, evolved as I worked the "cheese grater" over the styrofoam.

Prototype materials: latex painted styrofoam, 3/16” foam core and 1” Gatorboard, painted silver

For the final version, the foam core/Gator supports represented welded aluminum. The main section was intended to be formed with urethane foam and skinned with fiberglass.
